Wikipedia's Faux Censorship of Alternative Medicine

""Arriving at a "neutral point of view" is what the editors and top dogs at the free online "fauxpedia" website Wikipedia claim they one day hope to achieve. But the popular information website's extensive track record of ignoring, denying and even blatantly lying about the scientific merits of natural and "alternative" medicine proves, quite obviously, that Wikipedia's stated editorial policy is nothing but empty rhetoric posing as sound intention.

And sadly, many people still don't realize the true nature of Wikipedia's endless assault on natural health, which is the subject of a new book project by published author, columnist and podcast host Mike Bundrant. Burdened by the fact that the web's sixth most popular site continues to deceive the public about the science behind alternative medicine, the dangers of genetically modified organisms (GMOs), the healing power of naturopathy and more, Bundrant has set out to right the wrongs of this highly misleading web resource.

Wikipedia's entry for "Alternative Medicine," for instance, claims as fact that anything associated with alternative medicine is essentially quackery. This same entry, which millions of people will likely visit with the belief that it contains undeniable truth, openly admits that Wikipedia promotes conventional medicine, declaring anything alternative to not have any basis whatsoever in the scientific method.

The Wikipedia page for "Genetically modified food controversies" is similarly duplicitous. According to the Wikipedia gods, GMO food is completely safe and no different from "conventional food" in terms of its safety risk to humans. Wikipedia also contends that "no reports of ill effects have been documented in the human population from genetically modified food."

This last statement is patently false -- there's plenty of published research suggesting human health effects associated with GMO consumption. Even the American Academy of Environmental Medicine (AAEM) agrees, noting that "serious health risks" are associated with GMO food, including infertility, immune problems, accelerated aging, faulty insulin regulation, and changes to major organs and the gastrointestinal system.""

Urban Legend Dogma of Bubonic Plague Infection Exploit Corrected

""For decades, scientists have thought the bacteria that cause the bubonic plague hijack host cells at the site of a fleabite and are then taken to the lymph nodes, where the bacteria multiply and trigger severe disease. But UNC School of Medicine researchers discovered that this accepted theory is off base. The bacteria do not use host cells; they traffic to lymph nodes on their own and not in great numbers.

In fact, most of the plague-causing bacteria – called Yersinia pestis – get trapped in a bottleneck either in the skin, while en route to the lymph node, or in the node itself. Only a few microbes break free to infect the lymph node and cause disease.

“Anytime you find something where the host is winning, you want to exploit it,” said Virginia Miller, PhD, professor of microbiology and immunology and senior author of the paper in PLoS Pathogens. “If we can understand how the host and the bacteria contribute to this bottleneck, then this could become something we’d target so we could either ramp up what’s causing the bottleneck or slow down the infection.”

The discovery offers much needed information about how virulent insect-borne diseases, such as plague, malaria, and dengue virus cause infection. The findings also present new routes for research on how bacterial strains cause disease despite the immune system’s best efforts.

The plague, which killed millions of people during the Middle Ages, is contracted by several people each year in the western United States. Outbreaks have occurred in the recent past in India and Africa, and one is unfolding right now in Madagascar. Standard antibiotics are effective against Y. pestis if taken early enough. But infection can go undetected for days, making diagnosis difficult and antibiotics less effective the longer the bacteria take root.

There are three kinds of plague all caused by Y. pestis: bubonic, which is contracted through fleabite; pneumonic, which is contracted by breathing in the bacteria; and septicemic, which is a severe infection of blood.

Miller’s team studies the pneumonic and bubonic versions. Three years ago, Rodrigo Gonzalez, PhD – a UNC graduate student at the time and now a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard – searched the scientific literature for data confirming the accepted notion that Y. pestis gets trafficked by human phagocytic cells from the fleabite site to the lymph nodes.

Scientists readily accepted this idea because when Y. pestis microbes are added to phagocytic cells in culture, the cells do soak up the bacteria.
Phagocytes essentially eat harmful microbes, and because these cells traffic through the lymphatic system, scientists came to the logical conclusion that phagocytes take the Y. pestis to the lymph nodes.""

Psychic's Betsy Balega, Tara Greene and Shawn Robbins Tell Health Predictions in the Field of Homeopathy 2015

Robbins predicts that scientist will be “astounded when a compound is found in jellyfish that halts the spread of Cancer cells.” This would signal a major breakthrough in treating this horrid disease.

She also predicted that Turmeric, which is a “common spice used in Indian cooking, will be hailed as the next wonder drug to treat the symptoms of Glaucoma, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and Crohn’s disease.”

Balega predicts that "energy medicine" will become “a favored way to treat illness” by getting to “the root cause” rather than simply treating the symptoms. She adds, “People like Dr. Zhi Gang Sha and Dr. Eric Pearl will be recognized.”

More inspiring news comes from Robbins who predicts that 3D printers will be used to provide “human organs,” which will bring “new hope to transplant patients by not having to rely upon human organ donors.” This would also eliminate the need to use cadaver organs, which are most prevalent on the black market organ trade.

Robbins predicts more good news for patients who are paralyzed.

“A microchip implanted in the spine will be able to send electrical currents to nerve cells,” she says. This microchip would be “activated by a hand held computer and would allow paralyzed patients to regain a sense of feeling in their arms and legs.”

Greene says that Jupiter in Virgo this year will bring more “grassroots” ways of dealing with health matters. “Learning from the past, herbalism (the use of plants for medical purposes) will become mainstream,” she says adding that “all naturopathic and homeopathic healing methods will surge in popularity. Osteopathy and cranio-sacral therapies also become popular.”

As well Greene predicts, “Spiritual healing will get very mainstream. With Jupiter in Virgo (the body) opposite Neptune in Pisces squared by Saturn” she says, “spiritual healing, sound healing, crystals, color therapy, shamanism, ayahuasca, sacred plants, cleansing diets and positive outlooks will all be factored into any patient’s healing methodology as standard practice.
