John the Apostle Relics Discovered in Ashes of Grave

""Excavations at a medieval port and fortress in Bulgaria have led archaeologists to discover several artifacts of significance. A lead vessel containing ashes from the alleged grave of John the Apostle has been found, as well as a 10th century Bulgarian royal seal.
Archaeology in Bulgaria reports the artifacts were recovered during excavations of the ancient fortress of Rusocastroand the port of Burgos (Poros), located in what is today Burgas, Bulgaria
The curved lead tube or vessel containing ashes was discovered in a reliquary attributed to Saint John (St. John the Theologian), one of the Twelve Apostles to Jesus in Christian belief. It was found within a reliquary in an early Christian basilica, dating to the sixth century A.D. The vessel itself is very small, measuring only 2.2 centimeters (less than an inch) long. The outside of the artifact is decorated with many equal-armed crosses, and one of the two handles is missing.

Described as a “holy possession that preserved a holy substance,” the relic would have been considered to have had healing properties, said Milen Nikolov, Director of the Burgas Regional Museum of History, at a press conference this week.  He explained that relic was related to ancient beliefs, saying “every year on May 8, the date of John the Apostle’s death, there is manna, a holy healing powder, on the site of his grave.”
According to historical sources, Christian pilgrims are said to have gathered on the date of his death at his grave site in ancient Greek city Ephesus (Turkey), where they would lay rose petals and receive healing manna. Many would make pilgrimages in hopes of taking the ashes or manna powder to their own villages to serve as a healing item or a powerful talisman to ward off evil. As the tube’s decorations match those in Ephesus, researchers believe it may have originated there, and was brought to Bulgaria via pilgrimage, reports news site Novinite.
“All of these Early Christian pilgrimage centers produced primarily clay tubes for holy water; a total of only 43 lead tubes from this time period are known in the entire world,” notes Archaeology in Bulgaria.""

Antarctica Heatwave Making the South Warmer than most Countries this Spring

""When you think of setting high temperature records, Antarctica might not be the first place that comes to mind. But because climate change is warming the poles of our planet faster than the rest (NASA explains: "energy in the atmosphere that is carried to the poles through large weather systems."), records tend to fall rather quickly. Dr. Jeff Masters at Weather Underground writes that "the warmest temperature ever recorded on the continent of Antarctica may have occurred on Tuesday, March 24, 2015, when the mercury shot up to 63.5°F (17.5°C) at Argentina's Esperanza Base on the northern tip of the Antarctic Peninsula." (shown above)

When was the previous record? The day before: "the previous hottest temperature recorded in Antarctica was 63.3°F (17.4°C) set just one day previously at Argentina's Marambio Base, on a small islet just off the coast of the Antarctic Peninsula."

Before that you have to go back to April 24, 1961, to hit 62.8°F (17.1°C), which was also recorded at Esperanza Base.

Note that the World Meteorological Organization has not yet had time to certify that last week's temps are all-time records for Antarctica, but the Argentinian weather service has verified that the temperatures measured at Esperanza Base and Marambio Base were the highest ever measured at each site. A lot more details about temperature records in Antarctica can be found here.""

Transportation Security Administration's 92-point checklist: Released publicly for the first time

""The Transportation Security Administration's 92-point checklist it uses to identify terrorists based on suspicious behaviors was released publicly for the first time by The Intercept on Friday.
A passenger whose face turns flush due to intrusive screening procedures, or who demonstrates "contempt for the screening process" might just be a terrorist. Also be sure not to arrive late for a flight with a confused look on your face or emit a "cold, penetrating stare." And by all means, definitely do not yawn too much.
These are just a few of the suspicious signals the TSA has spent $1 billion training its "behavior detection officers" to look for as part of its Screening Passengers by Observation Techniques (SPOT) program. First introduced in 2007, TSA officials are trained to observe passengers in airport screening areas to detect behaviors the TSA associates with stress, fear or deception.
Each time an agent identifies a stress factor, one point is added to that passenger's tally. Fear factors get two points and deception factors get three points. Four points is enough for the passenger to be referred for additional screening.
Notable stress factors include whistling, strong body odor, a pale face "from recent shaving of beard," avoiding eye contact with security personnel and an "obvious 'Adams Apple' jump."
The agency says fear factors include "exaggerated, repetitive grooming gestures," "wearing improper attire for location," "constantly looking at other travelers" or "widely open staring eyes."
As for deception factors, the agency looks for individuals who appear to "be confused or disoriented" or "ask security-related questions."
Agents are instructed to deduct points if the passenger in question appears to be married, a woman over 55 or a man over 65.
The SPOT program's scientific integrity has faced criticism not only from independent scientists, according to Nature, but also from the Government Accountability Office (GAO) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) inspector general.
In 2010, the GAO found that the "TSA deployed SPOT nationwide before first determining whether there was a scientifically valid basis for using behavior detection and appearance indicators as a means for reliably identifying passengers as potential threats in airports." It added that SPOT's success rate is "the same as or slightly better than chance."
In a 2013 report, the GAO recommended that the DHS "limit future funding support for the agency's behavior detection activities until TSA can provide scientifically validated evidence that demonstrates that behavioral indicators can be used to identify passengers who may pose a threat to aviation security." The agency said it disagreed with that assessment.
The DHS inspector general found in 2013 that the TSA "cannot ensure that passengers at United States airports are screened objectively, show that the program is cost-effective, or reasonably justify the program's expansion.""

White House 4 Sale: America is an Oligarchy, Big Banks the Criminal Syndicates

""Senior SEC employees spent up to 8 hours a day surfing porn sites instead of cracking down on financial crimes
Nuclear Regulatory Commission workers watch porn instead of cracking down on unsafe conditions at nuclear plants
NSA spies pass around homemade sexual videos and pictures they’ve collected from spying on the American people

NSA employees have also been caught using their mass surveillance powers to spy on love interests, such as girlfriends, obsessions or former wives … and to eavesdrop on American soldiers’ intimate conversations with their wives back home. And see this  (“routinely shared salacious or tantalizing phone calls that had been intercepted” …  “‘Hey, check this out … there’s good phone sex’”)
An employee of the Transportation Security Administration admitted that TSA agents share – and laugh at – nude scans of passengers.

Investigators from the Treasury’s Office of the Inspector General found that some of the regulator’s employees surfed erotic websites, hired prostitutes and accepted gifts from bank executives … instead of actually working to help the economy

The Minerals Management Service – the regulator charged with overseeing BP and other oil companies to ensure that oil spills don’t occur – was riddled with “a culture of substance abuse and promiscuity”, which included “sex with industry contacts”
Agents for the Drug Enforcement Agency had sex parties with prostitutes hired by the drug cartels they were supposed to stop
Federal agents with the Drug Enforcement Administration and Secret Service investigating Bitcoin money laundering extorted and stole over $1 million in Bitcoin

Police have been busted framing innocent people
Warmongerers in the U.S. government knowingly and intentionally lied us into a war of aggression in Iraq.  The former head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff – the highest ranking military officer in the United States – said that the Iraq war was “based on a series of lies”. The same is true in Libya and other wars
The government lied when it said it doesn’t conduct mass surveillance on Americans, lied about the extent of the torture program, and lied when it said torture was aimed at protecting America against terrorists

The government made sure that false claims were made about the amount of oil spilled by BP in the Gulf
The government has framed whistleblowers with false evidence
The Pentagon falsely smeared USA Today reporters because they investigated illegal Pentagon propaganda

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission has conspired with big banks to manipulate commodities prices for decades
The government-sponsored rating agencies committed massive fraud (and see this)
The Treasury department allowed banks to “cook their books”
Regulators knew of and allowed the use of debt-hiding accounting tricks by the big banks

The Secretary of Treasury (Tim Geithner) was complicit in Lehman’s accounting fraud, (and see this)

The former chief accountant for the SEC says that Bernanke and Paulson broke the law and should be prosecuted

The government knew about mortgage fraud a long time ago. For example, the FBI warned of an “epidemic” of mortgage fraud in 2004. However, the FBI, DOJ and other government agencies then stood down and did nothing. See this and this. For example, the Federal Reserve turned its cheek and allowed massive fraud, and the SEC has repeatedly ignored accounting fraud. Indeed, Alan Greenspan took the position that fraud could never happen

Paulson and Bernanke falsely stated that the big banks receiving Tarp money were healthy, when they were not. The Treasury Secretary also falsely told Congress that the bailouts would be used to dispose of toxic assets … but then used the money for something else entirely

A high-level Federal Reserve official says quantitative easing is “the greatest backdoor Wall Street bailout of all time”
The non-partisan Government Accountability Office calls the Fed corrupt and riddled with conflicts of interest. Nobel prize-winning economist Joe Stiglitz says the World Bank would view any country which had a banking structure like the Fed as being corrupt and untrustworthy. The former vice president at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas said said he worried that the failure of the government to provide more information about its rescue spending could signal corruption. “Nontransparency in government programs is always associated with corruption in other countries, so I don’t see why it wouldn’t be here,” he said

Arguably, both the Bush and Obama administrations broke the law by refusing to close insolvent banks

Congress may have covered up illegal tax breaks for the big banks
The biggest companies own the D.C. politicians.  Indeed, the head of the economics department at George Mason University has pointed out that it is unfair to call politicians “prostitutes”.  They are in fact pimps … selling out the American people for a price.""

Cosmic Call of a Blood Moon Lunar Eclipse Shaping Energies of Humanity

""On Saturday this week, April 4, 2015, there will be a Total Eclipse of the Moon, starting at 6 am (Note that for the eastern part of North America, the Moon will set before eclipse achieves totality). If we look at this eclipse through the cultural history of humanity, we can find that there are different things that go on when this first Full Moon of Spring is eclipsed. This is because, in many cultural traditions, Spring is regarded as the beginning of the spiritual new year. Looking into the celestial world to find the relationship between Sun and Moon and Earth every Spring was the way to find the 'cosmic call to destiny' for the coming year.

Now in the Jewish tradition, the Spring Full Moon marks the observance and celebration of the festival of the Passover. Traditions connected with this festival have included the observance of a curfew, so that people were in the practice of not going out at night, or specifically, of not going out into the light of the Moon. When we get to the Christian tradition, we find in the New Testament description of the Last Supper, which is a Passover meal, that Judas Isacriot goes out into the night after this meal.
More specifically, he goes into the influence of the Moon,or into an eclipsing Moon, which is quite a bit different than any of the other Spring Moons. Because of this, there is a tradition of not going out into the light of the Spring Moon when it is being eclipsed, and instead to spend time in prayer and fasting. If we look into the region of the stars where we find the Sun at this time, We find that the planet Uranus is in the same field of stars. Uranus was the first planet in the history of humanity that was discovered with the use of a telescope, which means it brought something new to human experience. Because of this, Uranus has always been regarded as a herald of change. With a Total Eclipse of the Spring Moon, and the planet Uranus in the same region of the zodiac as the Sun, there certainly seems to be change on our horizon""

No Joke, Cern Discovers "Obama particle" Smashing Economies on Contact and in Contract

""In a stunning breakthrough that's sure to result in dozens of Nobel Prizes being awarded to somebody, scientists at the CERN Large Hadron Collider have discovered the elusive "Obama particle" by slamming the U.S. economy into a brick wall at 99.999% of the speed of a derivatives flash crash.

The collision produced an elaborate pattern of joblessness and wealth destruction which was captured and mapped by CERN scientists to create a statistical detection model that pinpointed the elusive Obama particle's role in destroying everything it touches.

"We believe this Obama particle may be the fundamental destructive force behind anti-matter and dark matter all at once," said one scientist who asked not to be named. "It seems to be capable of destroying everything it encounters."

After their discovery, Obama particles were found buried under the government parliament building in Greece, where they are now believed to have contributed to the disappearance of Greek wealth into a parallel dimension. Obama particles have also been spotted at Goldman Sachs, IRS offices and even hiding in the ear canals of CNBC's stock picking jester Jim Cramer, who seems especially skilled at destroying wealth with a degree of consistency that defies sheer randomness.

The search for the Obama particle is based on the fundamental laws of the universe which state that as the velocity of money approaches the speed of a fast-talking White House spokesperson, that money gains mass and gets heavier, causing it to fall out of the bottom of the Large Hadron Collider where it is collected by unpaid "science interns" holding out empty EBT cards. After those EBT cards are "recharged" with heavy money isotopes, they are redistributed to Obama supporters who use them to buy Tide laundry detergent, Oreo cookies and street meth, all of which are now available at your local Wal-Mart. (For the meth, you have to visit the Wal-Mart restroom.)

The Federal Reserve is reportedly very excited to get its hands on the elusive Obama particle in order to accelerate its economic destruction initiatives. "Until now, we've had to destroy the economy the old fashioned way by printing money," said Janet Yellen. "Now, with the Obama particle, we can accomplish this without even trying!"

The most fascinating finding of the Obama particle, according to CERN scientists, is that at high enough energy levels, the particles coalesce to open
a gateway to a dimension of evil-possessed demons, transporting them into our world to serve as California Senators""

New Age of Printing Bionic Nature Creations with 3D Printing

""Bionic ants and butterflies produced on a 3D printer are just as beautiful — and industrious — as their counterparts in the natural world.

Research efforts into minitaurization, practical adaptation of nature's tactics and functional integration with technology by the Bionic Learning Network will be showcased. The research network links German electronics company Festo to universities, institutes, development companies and private inventors as they seek creative solutions and test new technologies and production methods.

BionicANTs borrow not just from the physical characteristics of ants, but the design also incorporates many of the behavioral features of the highly social insects. The insect-inspired devices are slightly over 5 inches long and weigh just over 1 ounce each.

The artificial ants are created on a 3D printer, forming both the basic structure of the device and electrical connections in a single pass. Each artificial ant is equipped with a small video camera, providing a sense of "sight" for the robotic insects. The robotic insects recharge their internal batteries by placing their antennae against a charging station.
Piezo technology is used to drive bending actuators in the devices, which provide the joints within limbs, allowing the device to propel itself along surfaces. This system also uses little electricity, essential for operating time of the robots.

Autonomous Networking Technologies (ANTs) carry out collective activities in much the same ways as their counterparts in the natural world. The ants use a wireless signal to communicate with each other to carry out their tasks.

eMotionButterflies also use a similar system to carry out social activities, including collective flying. These ultralight flying objects take to the air inside a specially designed room, where 10 infrared cameras detect the position and movement of the artificial butterflies. This information is relayed to a central computer, which coordinates motions of the devices.

"The eMotionButterflies impress with an intelligently employed mechanical system and the smallest possible power units in the tightest space. The reduced use of materials enables the true-to-nature flying behavior," Festo managers reported on the company website.""

Pompeii World of Wonders Exhibited to Recreated Life of a Roman City

""An ominous soundtrack of bass drums and woodwinds thumps throughout the dimly lit exhibit.
“POMPEII: The Exhibition” is dark in lighting and mood.
It is also a hauntingly beautiful glimpse into daily life in Pompeii, an ancient Roman city destroyed by a volcanic eruption in 79 AD. The featured exhibit at Pacific Science Center lives up to its tagline that what nature destroyed, it also preserved.
The massive eruption of Mount Vesuvius, a volcano six miles from the city, killed an estimated 20,000 of Pompeii's citizens. The city sat quietly beneath the ash for centuries, before being unearthed by a Spanish archaeological team in the 18th century.
The 150 artifacts are impressive in range and thought-provoking in subject matter.
A vast collection of paintings, ceramics, mosaics, jewelry, gladiator armor, coins, kitchen utensils and elegant marble sculptures seem untouched by time. The artifacts  preserved by the layers of ash are a testament to the impressive skills of their craftsmen.
The Romans had an eye for design. Even the smallest details remain visible in their work, from the tiny etches on jewelry, coins and candle-holders to perfectly symmetrical patterns adorning massive porcelain sculptures, tableaus and fountain bowls.
The Pompeiians created masterful art and architecture. They entertained guests in lavishly decorated open-air rooms. They ate well, drank too much, made jokes about drinking too much, went to the gym and enjoyed shows at the amphitheater.
The artists of Pompeii were candid about their vices. Artwork from the period reveals the society's alcoholism and unabashed promiscuity. From the bathhouses to the brothels, the exhibit doesn't exclude any corner of the city.
Most of the displays are suitable for kids. There is a posted warning for parents before the erotic artifacts.
The exhibit never loses sight of the human tragedy caused by the eruption. Most of the 20,000 victims were asphyxiated by extreme heat and noxious gases.
Preserved by volcanic ash and filled with plaster when first unearthed, their bodies replicate the same poses held when killed by the eruption.
Throughout the exhibit, visitors can be heard whispering to each other about “the bodies,” though they are not actual bodies. Displayed behind glass, they are plaster models of the original casts made of the victims.
The bodies are memorialized by their will to live: Figures of men, scrambling up a flight of stairs together. A pregnant woman. A young child.
The exhibit comes to a close with a five-minute time-lapse film of Pompeii's destruction, complete with computer-generated imagery, strobe lights, fog machine and surround-sound of buildings crumbling.""

Quantum Entaglement Light Photon Created to Contain Thousands of Atoms for Advanced Atomic Time Keeping

Physicists from MIT and the University of Belgrade have developed a new technique that can successfully entangle 3,000 atoms using only a single photon. The results, published today in the journal Nature, represent the largest number of particles that have ever been mutually entangled experimentally.

The researchers say the technique provides a realistic method to generate large ensembles of entangled atoms, which are key components for realizing more-precise atomic clocks.
“You can make the argument that a single photon cannot possibly change the state of 3,000 atoms, but this one photon does — it builds up correlations that you didn’t have before,” says Vladan Vuletic, the Lester Wolfe Professor in MIT’s Department of Physics, and the paper’s senior author. “We have basically opened up a new class of entangled states we can make, but there are many more new classes to be explored.”

Vuletic’s co-authors on the paper are Robert McConnell, Hao Zhang, and Jiazhong Hu of MIT, as well as Senka Cuk of the University of Belgrade.

    Atomic entanglement and timekeeping

Entanglement is a curious phenomenon: As the theory goes, two or more particles may be correlated in such a way that any change to one will simultaneously change the other, no matter how far apart they may be. For instance, if one atom in an entangled pair were somehow made to spin clockwise, the other atom would instantly be known to spin counterclockwise, even though the two may be physically separated by thousands of miles.

The phenomenon of entanglement, which physicist Albert Einstein once famously dismissed as “spooky action at a distance,” is described not by the laws of classical physics, but by quantum mechanics, which explains the interactions of particles at the nanoscale. At such minuscule scales, particles such as atoms are known to behave differently from matter at the macroscale.
Scientists have been searching for ways to entangle not just pairs, but large numbers of atoms; such ensembles could be the basis for powerful quantum computers and more-precise atomic clocks. The latter is a motivation for Vuletic’s group.

Today’s best atomic clocks are based on the natural oscillations within a cloud of trapped atoms. As the atoms oscillate, they act as a pendulum, keeping steady time. A laser beam within the clock, directed through the cloud of atoms, can detect the atoms’ vibrations, which ultimately determine the length of a single second.

“Today’s clocks are really amazing,” Vuletic says. “They would be less than a minute off if they ran since the Big Bang — that’s the stability of the best clocks that exist today. We’re hoping to get even further.”

The accuracy of atomic clocks improves as more and more atoms oscillate in a cloud. Conventional atomic clocks’ precision is proportional to the square root of the number of atoms: For example, a clock with nine times more atoms would only be three times as accurate. If these same atoms were entangled, a clock’s precision could be directly proportional to the number of atoms — in this case, nine times as accurate. The larger the number of entangled particles, then, the better an atomic clock’s timekeeping.

    Picking up quantum noise

Scientists have so far been able to entangle large groups of atoms, although most attempts have only generated entanglement between pairs in a group. Only one team has successfully entangled about 100 atoms — the largest mutual entanglement to date, and only a small fraction of the whole atomic ensemble.

Now Vuletic and his colleagues have successfully created a mutual entanglement among 3,000 atoms, virtually all the atoms in the ensemble, using very weak laser light — down to pulses containing a single photon. The weaker the light, the better, Vuletic says, as it is less likely to disrupt the cloud. “The system remains in a relatively clean quantum state,” he says.
