Mutant Flowers Raise Concerns of Fukashima Radiation Found in So-called Safe Zones

""Four years after the powerful earthquake and tsunami that disabled Japan’s Fukushima nuclear power plant, photographs of “mutant daisies,” taken near the site, are stirring concerns over the long-term effect of radiation.

The images, posted in May by Twitter user @san_kaido of Nasushiobara City, located about 65 miles from the disaster site, show common daisies that appear to have been affected by radiation exposure, oddly fused together like Siamese twins, reports the Weather Channel.

“The right one grew up, split into 2 stems to have 2 flowers connected each other, having 4 stems of flower tied beltlike,” according to Fukushima Diary. “The left one has 4 stems grew up to be tied to each other and it had the ring-shaped flower. The atmospheric dose is 0.5 μSv/h at 1m above the ground.”

That radiation dosage is classified as safe for “medium to long-term” habitation, according to Japanese officials, who have permitted 7,000 evacuated residents to return to their homes near the reactors.

Three of Fukushima Dai-Ichi’s six reactors experienced meltdowns following damage from the March 2011 earthquake and tsunami. Radioactive water continues to leak into the Pacific Ocean, with trace amounts found in tuna on the U.S. Pacific coast.

The deformed flowers appear to have a natural, but rare, condition in vascular plants called “fasciation” or “cresting” that has been observed in other parts of the world that have not been exposed to large dosages of radiation.

Most land plants’ tips grow outward from the center as one point produces cylindrical tissue. But where fasciation occurs, the tip grows outwards and becomes elongated from the point of growth, producing a flat, longer looking flower head.

Cresting or fasciation can be caused by hormonal or genetic defects, bacterial or fungal infection or environmental causes that stress the plant. In this case, radiation may be the culprit.""

Pacific Ocean Current Heat Wave Possibly Due to Fukushima Radiation Catastrophe

""Media outlets are widely reporting on two recent studies in the journal Geophysical Research Letters describing a giant "blob" of warm water that may be responsible for recent ecological and weather anomalies across the United States -- from California's drought to the East Coast's severe winter to the thousands of dying sea lions washing up along the West Coast.

The "blob" -- more precisely, the "warm anomaly" -- is a patch of ocean water just off the coast of the Pacific Northwest that is about 1,000 miles across, 300 feet deep, and 3 degrees Celsius (5 degrees Fahrenheit) warmer than usual. It received its nickname from Nick Bond of Washington State University, lead author of one of the new studies.

Do the new studies actually explain what the media are claiming? Are there potential explanations that are being ignored?

What did the studies find?

Already, researchers have linked the blob to many of this past year's alarming ecological occurrences. Warmer water is less rich in nutrients, which scientists say has caused effects including a crash in the population of copepods (tiny animals that form the base of the ocean's food web) and the starvation of sea lion pups, causing thousands of the animals to strand themselves onshore. The warm water has also caused tropical fish to appear near Seattle.

The new study by Bond and colleagues also links the blob to the recent weather disturbances. The researchers claim that the blob actually has an atmospheric cause: an unseasonal ridge of high-pressure air hovering above it. This high-pressure air (instead of the low-pressure air typical for the winter) has been associated with the ocean becoming unseasonably calm and warm, removing a major source of rain for the West Coast and contributing to California's drought and the West Coast's warmer-than-usual winter, according to the researchers.

The second study traced the blob to another patch of unseasonably warm water, this one in the Tropics near the intersection of the Equator and the International Date Line. This warm water has been heating up the air above it, directly leading to the unseasonably warm patch of air that is heating the waters off the U.S. coast.

"It's like throwing a rock into a pond," researcher Dennis Hartmann said. "The wave eventually makes its way to the other side."

This same wave of warm air actually crosses the entire North American continent, the researchers found, eventually causing a wet, low-pressure system over the central and eastern United States. This system, called a "North Pacific Mode," contributed to this year's remarkably cold and snowy winter, the researchers claim.

Although North Pacific Modes have been observed before, this past year's was more extreme and longer lasting than has been seen before.

Potential Fukushima link not being investigated

According to media reports, no one knows what has caused the unusually warm Tropical waters responsible for all of these climate and ecological effects. But some have asked whether radioactive material emitted into the ocean by the Fukushima disaster might not be partially responsible.""

Why have we been chosen to be part of the "Chosen Generation?" Only He knows, but we rest assured there are no mistakes in God's agenda. Nothing will be allowed that could upset His plan for mankind. We have been selected by the Maker of All Things to live at this particular time of history. Perhaps because we are destined to reach potentials far beyond what we can conceive, or maybe we'll be among the early casualties in days to come. We are bombarded daily with "The Threat of the Day, "Probable war in the Mid-East, threatened nuclear attack on Israel, possible war between China and Japan, war between Russia and NATO, etc. etc…wars and rumors of wars" (Mt 24:6, Mk 13:7)."

Also on the daily radar are stories of possible EMP explosions that will knock out all electronics in North America and there are fears of hackers who are about to penetrate our electrical grid, shutting down the power that in turn will knockout water supplies and every activity that relies on electricity.[1]

Lately we see stories posted almost by the hour about coming military exercises called Jade-Helm and speculation that a cyber attack may be linked to the coming maneuvers.[2] There appears also to be much evidence of foreign troops (Russian and Chinese) practicing combat in hidden-away areas in secluded portions of our national forests, in preparation for war against the American people.

It's entirely possible that a cyber-attack, or a deliberate shutting down of the internet and telephone communications will render any resistance to martial law largely crippled while those bent on domination will still be able to communicate on other networks.

There is also evidence that Fukushima radiation is killing the Pacific Ocean fishing industry. We have drought in California and bird flu in Minnesota and North Dakota. Alongside that, is a mounting avalanche of evidence that financial collapse is either likely or planned, for the coming fall season of 2015. Evidence is also present that economic boom and bust cycles are due to bust next and prominent prognosticators chart the implosion to occur in the fall of 2015. The testimony of financial experts seems to be endless and it appears wise to listen to them, then pray for the best and prepare for the worst.

Then we have the second start-up of CERN, headquarters for the Large Hadron Collider, reportedly the largest mechanical device ever built on planet earth ostensibly built to find the "God Particle," or a replication of the "Big Bang." An exercise which, attributed to acclaimed Physicist Stephen Hawking, has the potential to cause enormous problems.

Many take Hawking's fears to mean we could possibly blow up the universe. Others worry that the CERN may inadvertently (or perhaps on purpose) open a "portal" to another dimension, possibly demonic and unleash a malevolent alien invasion upon us.

Theories abound that as it was in the days of Noah, when giants roamed the land and evil stalked every aspect of life, it is about to become again. God took care of the wickedness with a flood that wiped them all out but preserved Noah and his family for a fresh start. This time though, redemption has already been presented to the human race in the form of Jesus Christ and there will be no more new beginnings.

On top it all the "Shemitah Cycle" is being promoted by different authors and this too is apparently scheduled for the same time period (Fall of 2015), with the cherry on the top of the plate set before us being the tetrad phenomena of four "blood-red" moons in a row interspersed with a solar eclipse and a few more following closely behind. The last blood moon is scheduled for September 28,2015. God controls the cycles of the stars, the moon and the sun and we wonder if He is signaling something we should pay close attention to. After all He said in Genesis 1 heavenly bodies will be used for signs as well as for seasons.

Supervoid Found in Pool Pocket of the Universe Containing no Perceivable Light or Matter

""Astronomers from the University of Hawaii who have recently been studying what they believed was the largest detected structure in the universe have only actually found a 1.8 billion light year wide open space, not a "structure."

The Astronomers where trying to figure out why galaxies were missing from a portion of the sky being observed that was expected to have about 10,000 galaxies.

What can now be known as a "supervoid" was distinctive for its unexpected emptiness, it is "the largest individual structure ever identified by humanity,"said the studies leader István Szapudi of the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

Szapudi's research team was looking at the region that was lately found to be an area where the cosmic microwave background radiation is much cooler than the average background temperatures that surround. Astronomers have named this phenomenon a "Cold Spot."

The existence of such a large, cold area was unpredictable as most models of the evolution of the universe determine that after the Big Bang, there were some hot and cold regions in the early days of the universe, but nothing on the scale of this Cold Spot.

Researchers argue that this could be some kind of Cold Spot or empty hole because they say that their "supervoid" is sucking energy out of the cosmic radiational background that travels around it.

This supervoid is located 3 billion light years from Earth and was found in analyzing data from the Pan-STARRS1 telescope located on Maui in Hawaii and from NASA's Wide Field Survey Explorer (WISE) satellite.

The supervoid is unexpected given the usual even distribution of the universe at the scale the empty region occupies, the researchers say.

"This is the greatest supervoid ever discovered," says Kovács. "In combination of size and emptiness, our supervoid is still a very rare event. We can only expect a few supervoids this big in the observable universe.""

Martian Astronaut Corps Underway for Trip to Mars: A Total Recall of 90's Movies Classics

""With recent news headlines proclaiming that dozens of people have been selected as finalists for a Martian astronaut corps, it might seem like a trip to this alien world might finally be close at hand.

But let's have a little reality check. What are the chances that we really will see people on the Red Planet in the next couple of decades?

Most people just don't get how hard this would be, says Mary Lynne Dittmar, an aerospace consultant in Washington, D.C. "The distances that are involved and the complexities that are involved in going and staying there are really enormous," she says.

Dittmar ticks off a list of challenges: The trip will take more than half a year, one way, and you'll need to bring a bunch of food, plus oxygen. Then there's the question of whether you can even land on a planet with such a thin atmosphere. And if people do manage to make it to the surface, the first Martians will have to cope with everything from cancer-causing radiation to dust.

"Mars has a big dust problem," Dittmar notes.

Still, a Dutch venture called Mars One has captured the public's imagination with its plan to colonize Mars by 2025. Bas Lansdorp, the group's CEO, says they've been featured in major media outlets like CNN and the New York Times. "We've been on NPR — I think twice already," Lansdorp says.

Lansdorp is a mechanical engineer by training who has worked on wind energy technology. His Mars dream started almost 20 years ago, when he was watching Dutch TV and was stunned by vivid images of the red Martian surface sent back by a NASA rover.

"For some reason that I really cannot explain, I wanted to go to Mars and build a new human settlement there," he says.

Lansdorp believes the voyage will likely pay for itself because it will be a media spectacle. Everyone in the world will want to watch the whole adventure, he says. Mars One is planning a reality TV show with sponsorships and advertising.

"We expect it's worth up to 10 Olympic Games' [worth] of media revenue, which is $45 billion," says Lansdorp.

Of course, sponsors of the Olympics can be pretty confident that their games will happen. When asked how he responds to skeptics who say that Mars One is basically just a website and a marketing plan, Lansdorp says, "I think that the people who say that really haven't paid attention to what we've achieved already."

Lots of people applied to be part of the Mars One astronaut corps — paying a fee to do so. And the group has commissioned a couple of studies from established aerospace companies.

The Mars One plan calls for first sending out a small robotic lander in 2018. Lansdorp says he can do this more cheaply than NASA. But missions like that typically cost hundreds of millions of dollars. When told that it didn't sound like he'd raised anything like that amount of money, Lansdorp replied that "we don't need that kind of money yet because we're not yet building the actual lander. But these are the kinds of investments that we're currently in negotiation for."

How much has he raised? He won't say.

Some longtime space watchers say they seriously doubt whether Mars One has the right stuff. "I just don't find it a credible proposition," says John Logsdon, a space policy specialist and professor emeritus at George Washington University.

But that doesn't mean he thinks the idea of going to Mars in the next couple of decades is a total fantasy.

"I would like to see, once again, people leave this planet and go someplace else," says Logsdon. "Whether I'll be around in the 2030s to see the first missions to Mars ... I hope so."

Getting humans to Mars in the 2030s is NASA's stated goal. The trouble, Logsdon says, is that NASA can't expect any big infusion of cash to get the job done.

In his book After Apollo? Logsdon describes a serious proposal by NASA to push for Mars after the first moon landing. Under that plan, the first missions were scheduled for the 1980s. But President Richard Nixon didn't go for an expensive, Apollo-like program aimed at Mars, and no other administration has either.

That means that NASA will have to cobble together the pieces of a Mars program on its current budget.""

Wifi RF Exposure "Appears" Greater Danger to Children's Developmental Health than to Adult's Well-being

""Forbes writer Robert J. Szczerba states he simply wants to apply common sense rules to a technology that has been -- in his view -- overlooked by manufacturers.

Manufacturers like Apple do extensively test and list detailed information about RF signals on their website - in the case of the iPhone 6 this information recommends you carry your device 5mm away from your body to maintain safe standards (1.6 watts per kilogram) as required by law in many countries.

The effects of RF and WiFi signals on adults and children have been extensively looked at elsewhere.

In the UK an independent advisory group on non-ionising radiation, headed by Professor AJ Swerdlow, produced a detailed report on RF that said there was no evidence that demonstrated "any adverse health effects of RF field exposure below internationally accepted guideline levels".

It also said that "there is increasing evidence that RF field exposure below guideline levels does not cause symptoms and cannot be detected by people, even by those who consider themselves to be sensitive to RF fields".

That review also looked at studies into RF exposure in children - particularly as it related to reaction time, rather than cancer or other illness.

It said that one 2004 study which exposed 32 children aged 10-14 in a double-blind test found no significant effects of exposure. Another 2005 study found no significant results in a similar experiment.

The report did say that "caution is needed in interpreting the effect of exposure on simple reaction time, particularly since the effect replicates those observed in earlier studies of adults".

But it also concluded that "there is no convincing evidence that RF field exposure below guideline levels causes health effects in adults or children".

Forbes notes that the study it quotes tries to link RF exposure to cancer but admits it takes 30 years on average for a tumor to develop - meaning a link (if one exists) is difficult to prove.""

Twin Astronauts Spend 1 Year and 200 Miles Apart From March 2015 to March 2016 - 1 on Earth, 1 on Station

""Astronaut Scott Kelly has a body double, his identical twin brother, retired astronaut Mark Kelly. And while Scott is making history over the next year — living on the International Space Station longer than any other American astronaut — Mark will be down here on Earth, being poked and prodded to determine how his brother is faring in space.

In March, NASA will send Scott Kelly on a yearlong mission to ISS, where he will live and work alongside Russian cosmonaut Mikhail Kornienko on as many as 500 experiments. Because the typical trip in space is some six months, the Kelly brothers will, in essence, be an experiment themselves, giving NASA a better understanding of how long stints in space affect astronauts — in preparation for an eventual human mission to Mars.

“This will give us our first glimpse of what happens to their bodies from six to 12 months,” NASA’s space station program scientist Julie Robinson said, according to the Houston Chronicle. “We want to find what risks might lurk there.”

Long-term space travel can do strange things to a person. Bones get weaker. Muscles lose mass. And the near zero-gravity can even make a man taller — a temporary side-effect that amused Scott Kelly when he returned from a mission in 2011 and noticed he was taller than his twin.

“It did last long enough that I could stand next to my brother and look down at him a little bit,” he told the Houston Chronicle.

The brothers are part of NASA’s “Twins Study,” which will look at how twins in radically different environments change over time. Researchers will compare the brothers’ immune systems, reaction time, vision and heart health, among other things, using blood and urine samples as well as other measurements. This will tell them how Scott Kelly’s DNA might have changed in space.

“From bone loss and muscle loss to effects on our immune system, vision, vestibular system and radiation,” Kelly told KPRC‑TV. “You do get a lot of radiation in space, and we know what radiation can do to people. So that is a concern.”

NASA is waiting to launch long-term space travel — including trips to the Red Planet — until it learns how the human form can handle it.

In the 1980s and 1990s, Russia sent four cosmonauts to the Mir Space Station for a year or more, but their health was monitored at only an elementary level, according to news reports.

Mark Kelly, the husband of former House member Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.), volunteered for the study to do his part from home. But Robinson told reporters two test subjects are not enough, which is why NASA and its partners — Russia, Europe, Japan and Canada — are considering up to a dozen year-long test subjects at the space station, Associated Pressreported.""
